Welcome to St Mary’s
We’ve been the heart of Willesden since 938 AD, when King Athelstan first founded our parish church. For over a thousand years, people from all walks of life have gathered here, most famously to visit the historic shrine of the Black Madonna of Willesden. Whether you’re drawn by our deep medieval history, coming as a pilgrim, or simply looking for a peaceful, welcoming community, we’re so glad you found us.
Meet our New Vicar
On Monday 27 July we were delighted to welcome Fr Dumaeza Nhlapo as our new vicar! Here is a photo from the special day featuring Bishop Lusa, robed clergy from across the Diocese (and beyond), including Bishop Anderson Jeremiah and Bishop Adam Atkinson (guests of Fr Dumaeza)… and our Patron, Dr Paula Gooder, hiding in the back!
