SAFEGUARDING SUNDAY: SUNDAY 16 November
Today Safeguarding Officer Lucky will present this year’s theme: Action Speaks Louder: Encouraging us to commit to taking action towards creating safer places.
There is a poster in church, and an action pledge card is available to make a personal pledge.
Perhaps we can complete safeguarding training, or become more informed. Perhaps we can commit to praying once a week for the safeguarding team, or speak up about something we are not sure is right.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
Your safety and security are very important to us.
At our annual parish meeting in 2025 the following members of St Mary’s congregation were elected to the following positions:
Safeguarding Officer: Lucky Enekeme (07932 386858)
Children’s Champion: Linda Boakye (07504 340883)
Churchwarden: Stephen Halliwell (020 8459 1175)
Churchwarden: Kathy Watters (07527 540779)
All these individuals have their photographs and contact details displayed in church.
The PCC are required to review and re-adopt our Safeguarding Policy every year. Our current Safeguarding Policy Statement can be downloaded here:
If you are concerned in any way about a matter related to the safeguarding of children or vulnerable adults at St Mary’s, please do not hesitate to contact our Parish Safeguarding Officer, the Vicar, or either of the Churchwardens. You may prefer to contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Team, or the Police.
The PCC has adopted the House of Bishops’ statement, ‘Promoting a Safer Church: Safeguarding Policy Statement’, which can be downloaded here:
